How to Import Dot3D Scan Data into AutoCAD

OPTION 1: Export to the .RCS format directly from Dot3D on Windows and insert/attach the RCS file straight into your AutoCAD project.
NOTE: RCS files can only be exported directly from Dot3D on Windows. If scanning from Android or iOS, please first bring the DP file into Dot3D Edit on Windows for conversion to RCS.
OPTION 2: Open your .DP scan file in Autodesk ReCap on Windows, export to .RCS from there, and then insert/attach the RCS file into your AutoCAD project.
NOTE: Please leave the import units set to meters during import.
NOTE: To maintain the density of your scans, it is recommended you bring the decimation down to 0 in the settings tab during both import and export from Autodesk ReCap.
