What is DP Compatibility Mode and when should I use it?
With the release of Dot3D 5.0 (on iOS first), we have improved the native compressed DP point cloud format for even smaller file sizes and faster loading. However, this new version of DP is not yet compatible with 3rd party DP import workflows or even with earlier versions of Dot3D on Windows and Android. So, if you are moving your data off of your iPhone/iPad in DP format, please make sure to use compatibility mode for the time being. Here's how to do this:
When saving (via Save As):
Make sure to check the box to "Use Compatibility Mode".
(If you're not seeing this screen during save/export, please go to Settings>Units/More and make sure "Native File Dialogs" is checked.)
When exporting (via Share/Export):
Select "DP (compatibility)" from the dropdown menu.
