How to Import Dot3D dp Scan Data into PointCab
The PointCab software can be used for processing and meshing laser scan data. Imported scans can be meshed or worked with to the users needs.
Step 1: Open PointCab and select "New" at the top left of the screen. Then select "Open scan data" from the pop up.
Step 2: Select the scan data you wish to import into the new project, then press "Open". PointCab supports the dp format, as well as many other options.
Step 4: After selecting the scan data, click on the drop down with "Terrestrial scanning project" selected, and change it to a handheld scanning project
Step 3: press on "Save to" to choose the directory of the new project being created.
After a brief window of time, you should see your new project
