How to Use Dot3D Pro with a PrimeSense Carmine Depth Camera

How to Use Dot3D Pro with a PrimeSense Carmine Depth Camera

Please first consider purchasing a DPI Kit. These complete handheld 3D scanning solutions each come with individual DotProduct factory calibration files, which greatly improve the capabilities of the built-in sensor and the quality of the resulting data. This calibration procedure can only be performed at our production facility and is one of the most valuable components of these complete kits.

If you prefer to utilize an uncalibrated PrimeSense sensor, you will still need to load a calibration file into Dot3D. Attached is a Sample Calibration File. Please download this file and update the name to match the second component of your PrimeSense serial number. For example, if your serial number shows 12345-1311223344, you should name your file 1311223344.cal. This file can then be loaded into Dot3D Pro to allow scanning with PrimeSense. This procedure will require a Pro license. Dot3D Scan does not support PrimeSense 3D scanning. Please note that the Sample Calibration File is not a real calibration file and likely will not improve the sensor accuracy over its uncalibrated state.

Please see attached for more information on the PrimeSense Carmine 1.08 and 1.09 depth cameras.
