RealityCapture is photogrammetry software for creating 3D models from photographs and/or laser scans. Here is a guide on one method to import and mesh Dot3D scan data in RealityCapture. Users of this workflow may also want to apply HD photographs separately. Here is an example of that.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1) Export an E57 point cloud file from Dot3D (Pro or Edit).

2) From the Workflow tab, click on "Laser Scan". Next, it is extremely important that you set "Exact - use an existing registration" in order to maintain the registration of all the scan frame positions as saved by Dot3D. RC then converts the E57 into its internal LSP file format.

3) From the Alignment tab, click on "Align Images". RC then creates a sparse point cloud from the Dot3D scan.

3) From the Mesh Model tab, click on "High Detail" to generate a mesh model from the scan.

4) From the "Mesh Model" tab, click on "Texture" to project the color textures back onto the 3D model.
