What is the .dpx file and why can't I export it?

The .dpx file format is used by Dot3D in Free mode to store your scans. This specific file format is intended to let users try Dot3D scanning before they commit to buying a license, and as such, cannot be converted to other formats. However if you still have the ability to activate a Trial, you can do that and have full capability for 7 days. Scans created in Trial mode will have full .dp capability.

Please note that scans saved to the .dpx format cannot be converted even after buying a subscription, and should only be created for testing purpose while determining if Dot3D is right for you.

Dot3D will inform you if the scan you're about to create will use the .dpx file format. You should see the following warning on your screen if this is the case.
