Compatible Apple iPhone Pro or iPad Pro.
Software Needed:
Dot3D Prime - (will require a license which can be purchased from your preferred Dot3D Reseller or get it from DotProduct)
Zeno Connect - available from the Apple App Store
Getting Started:
Get FLX and Handheld Tray (AZ220 or AZ225).
Get Leica Zeno Connect app from the App Store, install on compatible iOS LiDAR enabled capturing device (iPhone Pro or iPAD Pro.)
Insert FLX and phone/tablet into handle. Make sure the camera view is not obstructed. Turn on FLX.
Bluetooth-pair with the FLX using iOS Settings. Make sure there is a connection.
Start Zeno Connect app and make sure the FLX is recognized.
Setup RTK within Zeno Connect ("GPS Correction Profiles"). See the guides linked below for general startup/setup guides from Leica Geosystems. Here are some specific instructions for setting up with Dot3D:
Zeno Connect settings:
Antenna Usage: Upright
NMEA Messages: GGA, at least 1 per sec. (5 per second has been recommended) GST same frequency as GGA (this is important!)
Toggle off everything except GGA and GST.
Make sure to select a correction service that is giving you good RTK corrections in your area.
In Zeno Connect: ensure that the FLX is delivering live position data
You will need to select a coordinate system
while WGS84 works in many cases, state plane or UTM systems might be necessary for geodetic applications.
Note Dot3D can handle coordinate system transformations at on export of the data as well.
You will need to select a mount point for your service.
Once your Zeno Connect is properly set up and connected, start Dot3D. Go to Settings --> GNSS, select Leica FLX 100. Press "Test Connection" and make sure it works.
Start scanning. Make sure to expand the GNSS icon in the top left corner and monitor GNSS quality while scanning.
Make sure your hand or fingers are not in the field of view of the camera.
Before optimizing your date, make sure to select GNSS Fit.
Troubleshooting Hints:
If you are not seeing satellites, check to see if you have Zeno Mobile One installed. If you do, you may need to delete Zeno Mobile One and restart Zeno Connect with a new profile.
If the RTK button is going on and off, try going to “GPS Correction profile” and click the test on your profile and this may “Awake” the system.
If you are not getting good 3D scan data, make sure that your hand or fingers are not interfering with the field of view of the camera. This can be easy to do with the phone handle.
If you have moved the antenna a large geographic distance (such as flying across the country) you may want to reset the antenna to clear the almanac. This process may take longer but should lead to better corrections at the new location.
